Senior Business Development Manager

The Senior Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving Clever-
Access’ growth by identifying, engaging, and converting new client opportunities
globally. This position focuses on proactive client acquisition, strategic relationship
building, and managing the full business development cycle from prospecting to
contract signature.
The role requires good knowledge of pharmaceutical development, Market Access
and HEOR, combined with advanced commercial acumen and stakeholder
engagement skills.

Main responsibilities:

1. New Business Generation & Market Expansion:
• Identify and target new pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare clients
aligned with Clever-Access strategic priorities.
• Conduct structured market screening to identify high-potential opportunities,
therapeutic area trends, and pipeline developments.
• Develop and execute tailored outreach strategies to engage decision-makers
and influencers.
• Build and maintain a robust and qualified sales pipeline.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Development:
• Initiate contact with prospective clients through networking, industry events,
digital outreach, and strategic introductions.
Lead capability presentations and solution discussions aligned with client needs.
• Position Clever-Access as a trusted strategic partner rather than a transactional service provider.
• Develop long-term relationships with global Market Access & HEOR leaders.

3. Proposal & RFP Management:
• Coordinate responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), RFIs, and pitch opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal scientific and operational teams to develop high-quality, competitive proposals.
• Ensure proposals clearly articulate Clever-Access value, differentiation, and methodological excellence.
• Manage follow-up discussions and negotiation processes with prospective clients.

4. Strategic Account Development:
• Support transition from prospect to strategic client.
• Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across Clever-Access service offerings.
• Contribute to long-term account growth strategies in collaboration with project teams and leadership.

5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Monitoring:
• Track industry trends, payer environment evolution, and competitor positioning.
• Provide insights to leadership to support service development and commercial strategy.
• Contribute to the identification of new service opportunities and innovative client solutions.

6. Internal Collaboration & Thought Leadership:
• Work closely with technical experts to align business opportunities with scientific excellence, aligned with company strategic projects
• Contribute to marketing initiatives including conferences, webinars, publications, and thought leadership activities.
• Support the continuous improvement of BD tools, messaging, and client engagement strategies.

Candidate’s profile:

Education:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, ife Sciences, or related field
• MBA or commercial training is a plus
Professional Experience
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Business Development, consulting, or commercial roles within:
- Market Access
- HEOR
- Healthcare consulting environment
• Proven track record in acquiring new clients and managing complex sales cycles
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development and payer evidence requirements

You will be:

  • Participate in parts of projects under supervision of senior staff including but not limited
    to:
  •  Landscaping analysis, based on targeted or systematic literature reviews, HTA and pricing search and analysis,
  • Preparing primary research (preparatory material, management of appointments with experts and support for summary of interviews conducted by senior staff),
  • Conducting synthesis of information based on literature reviews, clinical trials,primary research, etc.,
  • Developing sections of global value dossiers, documents needed for early HTA advice (including briefing book) and HTA dossiers and any other relevant reports based on outlines,
  • Performing review of HTA reports,
  • Support development of value communication tools,

Education:

  • Master degree in pharmacy, medicine, public health, biology, biotechnology,

Experience:
